Sleeves for Able cylinders

Call ADA. they used to machine the Able cylinders and the sleeves came from NW I believe (regardless of what they say). ADA's sleeves for their first generation billet cylinders are similar & might work, but none will have the exhaust bridge that the Able did.

Those guys were out of Ormond Beach, FL. I used to ride with them 10 plus years ago at a lake in Palm Coast (airport lake?). They had super fast Blasters. One of the guys that was in tight with them works at a bike shop just South of Nick's house on Nova Road. He would know where they got the sleeves. Also, I am pretty sure those guys are building jet powered outboards for boats right now. I am horrible with names. I can't even remember the name of their new company, but I know a few people to ask. I'll try to find out tomorrow.

between the machine work, cost of the sleeves and the port matching work, you would be better off putting that money towards a nice lamey cylinder set up.
just my .02

Steve,
I dont mean to sound crazy, but I need to ride a Lamey and be convinced it will run better than my boat. I have a simple set up (5 mil, 48 full specs, and msd TL) that hits harder than anything I have ever ridden. I cant see anything of the same size hitting any harder. Maybe they do, but until I ride one, I cant see putting down several grand for something like that. I can resleeve mine for a few hundred bucks!

Correct me if I am wrong, but thats just my opinion at this point. If I ride a Lamey, that may change!

a new lamey billet np cylinder is $1700

That ABLE rips for a 5 mil, pulls sick down low and revs to the moon. Ive riddin 5 and 6 mil lameys that felt about as good.but not 1700 better FO SHO Id bore it or if it wont take another bore, hone the shiz out of it and throw some new pistons and rings in there and rip it.comp was still high when it was taken down.

Phillip,

Stop by the lake one day when we are practicing, I will let you ride a Lamey that will make your wallet puke. :)

Anyone know who makes these?

Both NW and LA have never heard of them.............
Talk to Linda at NW, she'll remember making the Able sleeves. It would be advisable to send them the cylinder for resleeving, you could even have them make thicker sleeves for big bore. All that, including boring to match your pistons and port clean up for probably no more than about $650. - ready to install!
Current ADA domes will fit the Able head. OLd rumors- don't know how true- are that the bridged x-port versions sucked.
