Looks like Great Lakes Surf to me

Apparently it's Nantucket, MA.

But a photographer from Nantucket, Jonathan Nimerfroh, found something most of us have never seen – nearly frozen waves. When Jonathan was asked how he came about this natural phenomenon he said, “Just been super cold here. The harbor to the main land is frozen solid. No boats running. But yeah, the day after I took these it actually froze up the shoreline for 200 yards out. Solid ice. I was totally tripping when I pulled up to the beach and saw this.”

I've ridden in flatwater slush before. Those ice crystals tear the pump and wear ring up fast!

It's not great for the hull either.

Yeah.. Some of my aluminum stator viens don't look the greatest. Might be from the hundreds of ice chunks that went through them... Lol

That looks awesome to see pictures of. And it needs to stay at that. There is no way in hell I'd ever ride that without a large amount of money and a dry suit motivating me.

Supposedly water resistant lubricant works well.. That what some guy in Russia or something told me he uses.

I hear ya... Im originally from Nebraska and we had a small river than ran through our town and we would ride it in the winter. Then when the lakes started thawing we would go out and bunny hop the ski up and slide over a sheets of ice to the next available water for fun.. One time I forgot my gloves and decided to go for a ride anyway. I slid over a piece of ice and kinda got sideways on the ski. I was sliding pretty fast and when I went back into the water all the sharp ice crystals at the ice sheet edge put like 100 tiny cuts on both my hands. Was really weird looking...lol
