Slutty.. Tubbie II Install

I won some hockey tickets from work so I took my son to the game. I might have to wait until sat. to finish the install. They're a bit of a pain to install solo. I'm a little worried about the epoxy setting before final placement. I've tossed the epoxy resin in the fridge to slow down the curing. I hope to install and flair in before my sunday ride.

family first...

here are a couple pics, you can see better in the close up.

i used DURA GLASS to build up

i attatched with 3M pannel bond and screws into aluminum.

hey slut, did you leave the screws in and fill over them or did you take them out after the epoxy hardened?

I left them in.... No need to remove them IMO

After the epoxy drys, just fill over them w/ evercoat filer
I think they add structure...

to get rid of the screws sticking through, just clamp down on them w/ vise grip and bend back and forth till they bust off, or us a chisel and a hammer to chop em off flush.

I managed to get one epoxied on last night. I flaired it in with thickened epoxy. I tried to smooth it in as well as I could. then I looked at sluts. your filler work is pretty impressive. Maybe mine will look as good when its painted.

one down, one to go!

it's pretty well known that I'm not a good rider. so I didn't notice much diference in my tubbies at first. even after 2 sessions in the waves the only difference I felt was a weird sketchyness at half throttle on the way back to the beach launch.

Then I started trying to push them more than before while waiting on some guys for a third trip out to the waves. they started feeling real good. the ski hooked up better in the hard turns. I could really put a lot of weight forward and make it grip. then we hit the waves and I started ripping lips like a pro. I've always sucked at ripping lips but I felt in much better control. no subing problems, no twitchyness when it went form leaning over hard to back upright. It's a little harder to break it loose but I can still do it and it's more controlable than before. They felt great! :arms:

It took me a few rides to recognize the advantageous handling differences. At first all I could feel was the chine walk at half throttle.

I think I know what you mean, but what exactly do you mean when you say "ripping lips"?
