Super Jet Smallest trailer?

Location
chicago
Hi,

I have a SuperJet, and the dealership sold me a huge ass trailer for it - it's obviously a trailer for the sit-down ski, with rails readjusted. What is the smallest towable trailer that works for Superjet?

Pretty much the smallest you can find. The superjet only weighs around 300lbs. Most of the newer trailers are huge, as skis have got pretty big. You will want to look for an older single trailer. They will still be a little large, but will fit much nicer.

If you are planning on getting another standup, you may just want to keep your current trailer and convert it to hold 2 skiis.

Do you have a pic of your trailer? As I have recently built another ski and only have a small single place stand-up triailer that I am looking to get rid of once I can get my hands on a 2 place stand-up trailer and it sounds like I would be able to convert the one you have into a 2 place stand-up trailer if it is as big as you described.

I'll post a pic when I get home. From the look of it it should be able to be converted to 2 stand ups - I think it's big enough.

I successfully put 2 stand-ups on this trailer (barely) and it looked like it was the right size with just one ski on it

Frame Width: 44 Inches
Width Between Fenders: 46 Inches
Overall Width: 59 Inches

Not sure how you managed to fit 2 skis on that trailer with those demensions, but I would guess they are smashing into each other as you drive down the road. I am not looking to cut it that close as I have an max overall width of 90 inches in order for it to fit into my garage without issues. Ideally I would like to keep it at about 85 inches overall to ensure there is plenty of clearance on both side of the skis and fenders.

They have an inch between them and the skis are hanging over the fenders on each side. Each ski is 27" wide so 27+27+1=55", 4" narrower than the trailer. The outside bunks are 2" from the edge of the trailer frame. I've put 200 miles on the trailer with both skis and it works great.

I'm sure it is a great setup just not ideal for my situation as my Q8 is a little wider than my SJ and I perfer to have the skis inside the fenders just as an added measure of security so that I if I cut to close to something I would rather lose a fender than a ski.

Mine is about the same in width. The skis ride over the fenders, there is about 3 inches between them.

Steve, how do you back that thing up with your truck? Can you see it at all? Cool setup, but more of a beach cart than a long haul trailer.

i cant see it behind my adreanalin... at all.. i have to strap the pole up and use the mirrors

plus the tongue length is short so its a b!tch to back up

when i drive my subaru i leave the tail gate up and a back seat down

i have taken this on many road trips, last one was from canada to VB - 14 hours and it holds up great, this trailer must have over 100k on it!
