Smoke from bottom of motor

Hey guys I'm getting smoke from the bottom of my 650sx motor where a little choke like cable goes into. What is this? And is this and is this a common problem? How do I fix it?

Sounds like your crank case drain is leaking. You can get a block off plate for it, probably a good idea. If it leaks air it could create a lean condition. Not good. Here is a link to one on eBay:

I bought a complete gasket kit is this one gasket that I have left over the one that goes to it?

Thanks @Ehlett I ended up buying one of those. But could I pull my motor out and try something so I can ride this weekend

Not sure, may not be worth the risk. Id be waiting until the block off plate is installed.

You can pull your motor , take the case drain off, pull it appart , I believe its three pieces. One of the pieces , I believe its the outer one can be flipped over and bolted back on by itself and it blocks it off just like the one you ordered. Use 1211 in the drain holes and on the plate your bolting back on. Done.

Or get a couple short bolts and thread them into the holes. Fill the holes with 1211 first , no need to tap with the correct bolt , just thread it in . Done.

Why does it even have a drain? And I can't even pull the lever is that maybe why I have a problem

Its a two stroke. If you get water in it you can drain it and restart it and ride it like you stole it to dry out the crank bearings. If you ride it like it is you will melt pistons.
