Got a wild hair up my ass and Bought my first ski June/2017.. was bored out of my fkng mind after 20 minutes riding it all stock (6m6 trash).. it did come with a intake grate, extended ride plate and prop. I've learned a lot about these things and now its a pretty intense hobby of mine (2nd to racing superbikes)
So I found a complete wave runner III gp ($400) in August & robbed it of a 150/150 psi 61X & it has made the ski a bit more fun.
Recently purchased/slapped on what I believe to be originally a blaster protec pipe (has two welds at the expansion chamber [which i believe it was cut to change direction of the stinger]) This pipe vibrates violently and it has proprietary protec head mounting points so i am currently only able to mount it by 2 of the 4 available chamber mounts.. I purchased some aftermarket rubber mounts (protecs prices are crazy) and the vibration destroyed them in about 2hrs of riding. Going to Tig/fill the the exhaust mount holes on the ADA exhaust mount bracket and drill/time cert it for correct location mounting so hopefully all 4 mounts in-use will stop the protec pipe from destroying the rubber grommets. (tesitng how long coupler only mounting lasts first)
I also recently slapped on a ADA girdled Head (35cc), brand new SBN 46, wetjet carb manifold & Carbontech reeds (had a bent oem reed). The ski keeps up with stock 16 SJ's now!
I did my best tuning this thing which started out as 120/150 2.0 N&S Black spring.. I ended up at 115/145 jetting which put me at about 1 turn out on lo & 1.75 out on high.. Its a smooth ski, doesn't rip arms out of the socket but no bogs or hesitation & the plugs look perfect! I cruise 100% throttle ALOT so i'm probably at 2-2 1/4 turns out on the high as i have kept adding fuel to see if it runs different which it hasn't yet.
I need more power so i'm probably sending off the cyl for bore & port (it did have some minor pitting in cyl wall) 83mm and porting from one of the big names, haven't decided yet.. I really want a 55mph ski but my wallet can't provide that lol.
Other mods:
Just bought it:
Installing ADA Head: (rear cyl with carbon build up from bent reed im guessing)
New Reeds:
All done, night before destroying the new 2 rubber grommets (and cheap ass coupler)
