Super Jet SN build, Rocker, Chopped rear, this website made me do it!

Hi to all,
Hi I am quite new to this website as far as having a username and login but have been reading through the fourms for a while about guys building up square nose superjets. Everyone on here that has done a build fourm has encouraged me to start my own build. So a sn hull kinda found me actually without looking real bad and it was a price I could actually afford at the moment and I jumped on it. The hull was pretty much a bare hull, it had hull, hood, pole bracket, waterbox, primer, and footholds, thats it. I will post some pics here soon to show what it started at when i got it. Since i have owned it i have been trying to spend a hour or two here and there on it and have removed turff, chopped 5" off the rear, de-foamed, cut out tray... pics to follow aswell. Any ideas or advice accepted.

How long have you had the hull? I swear I saw that same one complete at the crane lake races in August.

Got a round nose pole, a take off from a 2015 sj I believe. In this photo it's sitting 9" ahead of the pole mounting location just for a visual idea. Just got the nose cut off today to start building my own rocker nose. Hull is down to 74 lbs at this point, I have not added any glass and it's about as naked as it will get. Time to start glassing up.image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

You are getting a lot of clean looking work done fast.
The rocker looks a little blunt to me?
Good work making it happen, I have a similar project that I got 3/4 done and just ran out of gas on.

So I got 2 layers of glass on the nose the last few nights. I was just about to lay the third layer of glass and spent about 30 minutes just looking at it then decided to cut another 5.25" off the front on top of what was previously cut off. It's 10:30 at night right now but I'm hoping to get foam set up to do another nose re-shape tomorrow night. It's going to be real short now, the furthest 2 thread inserts to hold down the water box are gone, I'll have to figure that out later. Once the ski is a lot further along I'll tig up a smaller lighter waterbox.image.jpeg

image.jpeg This was probably the ski Ian was on but with my hood. I was not at crane, I only wished I was haha. I don't currently own a running ski actually.

On a side note I got two layers of glass in the nose and will probably post photos tomorrow.

Got just enough layers of glass on the nose that I could remove the foam/ duck tape mold out and the shape of the nose can be seen in these photos. Once I have finished building up the glass thickness it will be trimmed.

IMG_1884.JPG IMG_1817.JPG IMG_1901.JPG IMG_1868.JPG Ok so I have still been busy with this ski, just have not had much time to be on here lately. I ordered a 61x on eBay and it showed up aswell as a single carb and manifold and reeds. I borrowed a pole mount from one of the local guys and took some measurements and made myself a round nose style pole mount for the round nose pole I have. Also I got the pole bracket area ready for glass and just tonight put some glass down.
