Hey everyone! So i brother finally bought a superjet 2 weeks ago and i have been helping him build it.

The previous owner told us "It ran great last summer"! Well we arrived to check out the ski and it was obvious it has been on fire and the motor was locked up! The hoses and electrical box were melted, the upper deck side walls were warped and the owner said to all that: "I never noticed any of those problems before"....... I grab the coupler and i couldn't turn the motor over. I told him the motor was locked up and he said again : "It ran great last summer".... So I asked him to grab the coupler and see if you can turn it over...He couldnt...He said: "well thats odd, im not sure how that happened"....

As you can tell the previous owner is a real jacka$$, but my brother really wanted a superjet, so they agreed on a much lower price then he was asking.

The day we got it

Got the motor pulled.

and it is full of water! :wiggle: I'm not surprised...."It ran great last summer"... I have been told filling the motor full of water is the best way to winterize it.

So I came to the conclusion that the ski caught on fire, he sank it to put it out, then put it up for the winter, awesome.

nice work... you doing anything to the hood? Those holes on the front of the will take on a LOT of water without that nose piece...

So will the massive holes in the top where we lowered the hood :icon16:. We will be covering those holes when we glass the top of the hood.

How many inches of the hood did you cut off? Front and back.

Not sure, I will measure tomorrow. I think the higth turned out about right.

Nice work! Did you make the tunnels on the hood yourself?

How you do that!?!

Can you take a few pics of the hood and nose? Thanks

Sure. I'll post some tomorrow.

After we painted the ski, I took the cup that holds the paint for the spray gun and cut it in half and fiberglassed it to the ski.

Odd that it almost has a freakish look to it now. Love the build, just curious about your plan with the engine?

When we were in TX ski shopping we came across a guy that had a 771 pro-tec 61x/62t for dirt cheap and was not locked up, but needs to be bored to the next size, because it is not in my brother budget right now(dual carbs etc etc etc.) we are going to take the crank out of the 771 and put it in the 61x/61x and rebuild top end.
