SN Oem exhaust question

Working on 93 SN Superjet for someone. It had a 61x motor swap into it to replace the original 650. I pulled the engine out to replace the mounts, midshaft, pull tank n clean. Well I fixed everything up n really the last thing I had to do was hook up the exhaust tube from waterbox to the stock muffler (part that says Yamaha). Well the exhaust hose was way to big to attach to the muffler. I had disconnected this hose completely when I pulled the waterbox out for more room for cable replacements. Thought I put it in the correct direction. Do remember it going on tight to the stock fiberglass waterbox but it did go on.
Now I do have an extra hose clamp that matches to the one for the muffler side. I’m wondering if there was originally 2 clamps somehow squeezing the hose on to the muffler to seal it. I dont remember removing 2 clamps bc there should be one. But I also don’t remember the pipe being way loose. I looked up part numbers n the pipe is the same from the 650 n 700 engine. Maybe I have it backwards if possible? IDK.

Yes or if you live in Alabama you find a piece of hose that fits the waterbox and also fits inside the 701 hose ,cut off a small piece, shove it on the waterbox, put the hose on the other hose, clamp it and go ride , cause that's how we do it round here.

The Stock 650 Waterbox Inlet/Outlet is a smaller diameter than the Stock 701 Waterbox.

I don't think a Stock OEM 701 Waterbox will fit in the 650 Square Nose. I tried...not enough Hull width.

Rad Dudes sells a Custom 701 Waterbox with the 2.25" Diameter Inlet/Outlet that will fit the 650 SN.

Otherwise you will need to reduce the exhaust hose diameter down from 2.25" to fit the smaller 650 Waterbox Inlet.

Normally, the Entire 650 SN Exhaust System is upgraded to the 701 2.25" size all the way to the Rear Exhaust Outlet to use all of the 701's performance potential.
Yeah my 08 SJ waterbox is definitely bigger than the fiberglass stocker that’s in this ski. So all 701 stuff is 2.25”. I’ll measure the waterbox inlet and the muffler exit next time I’m at the ski. When I say the hose was extra big to attaching to the exhaust piece it was lime throwing a hotdog down a hallway big.

Well I figured it out the other day. I popped out the fuel tank and pulled off the hose. Payed attention to it and the one side was different than the other. Exhaust side has more of a squared off curve into the exhaust where the other side is more of a natural curve into the waterbox. So I had it on backwards. So the one side was bigger bc both fit each side a lot better and easier. But the pipe had me fooled bc of the shape being similar on both sides. But I also have another question. Posting another one. Hopefully you guys can help again

A stock RN water box most definitely fits in a SN.

Must be a "southern" thing I did the same thing with my tnt chamber with a smaller stinger than the stock hose, use another hose almost like a bushing and tighten'er down with a hose clamp

Yes where I grew up we were taught to figure out a way to make things work with what you had , buying new wasn't never even an option.

I had to use that trick on the 300SX the other day, I am pretty sure that's a Coffman for a 701 I have in that ski, I had to make a spacer to get it to fit right and a piece of hose inside of a hose to mate up to the Bad bones resonator.
