Hey guys, I'm making the jump into a Yami, and plan to end up with an aftermarket hull sometime in the near future.

My plan was to pickup a 701 RN with some basic mods, and swap everything into a ROK or other similar hull. I've been thinking about it though, and I can pickup a 701 SN for ~$1500 less then the equivalent RN, and I believe everything will still swap over. Am I wrong in this?

Thanks

Exhaust hose is smaller diameter. Pole will not fit either. Waterbox is different. Other than that u r good.

Eventually you will end up paying about the same when switching over to a AM hull...go cheaper with a SN...you will have to get a new pole and bracket, pre 94 you will have to get a new midshaft housing and other parts listed above. Go with a RN you pay a little more now, a little less later as more parts are compatible. Either way you wanna go about. Just gets a Yami! Haha!

Be diligent in your research on the hull. I ran into lots of problems in going from my 94 SN to a WDK ROK hull. In fact I ended up pretty much building an entire ski from scratch with new parts because hardly anything from my SN worked correctly in the ROK hull. Now in saying that I also got a hull with a kawi based pump system, so my Yamaha pump did not work, but that ended up being the least of my worries. One thing that surprised me and I didn't count on was that not even my motor mounts worked, they were to tall to line up with the mid shaft even after adjusting it all the way up so I had to run stock gp-800 mounts that are lower to fit. other than that, exhaust hose was different also the pump trim system had to be altered, different waterbox, different tank, different pole mount, etc. Sorry just venting a little because I am still waiting on my drive shaft to get cut so it will work lol. Just do your research before you buy and all will be fine.
