sn waterbox mod

anyone know how to mod a sn stock waterbox? i saw a thread on it a long time ago but cant find it

im trying not to spend anymore money right now. just bought a motor and all kinds of stuff. isnt there a way you can take out the baffles and re seal it or somthing?

Why do you want to "mod" the muffler???

honestly? just want a little better sound and dont think its worth it to buy an aftermarket one just for "better sound". rather put the money in a pole

Do our sport a favor and keep it as quiet as possible. I LOVE loud pipes but I also understand that most people sitting along the shore do not like them. They are the people that can get take away our rights if they make enough noise.

The Rn box is alot lighter than the SN.

the RN box and RN exhaust tube are a bit larger in diameter. the RN tube is a pound or two lighter than the SN tube as well.

the SN tube was designed for a 650 motor.

I cut mine in half at the seam and removed the baffle box. Then I used plates, rivets, and epoxy to join the halves back together. Gave it a meaner sound not as loud as some aftermarket boxes. Go for it, Its an easy project and its no louder than a Harley with straight pipes.
