Snow goggles?

Do snow goggles work well in the water? Like the regular full face Oakley ones. Definitely don't want swim goggles, but I can't see worth s*!* in the sunlight. I usually wear cheap sunglasses but I've broken a couple of them, and impossible to wear w a helmet.

Oakley makes a hydro version. There are also some other snowboard versions that work good. But at the end of the day it comes down to personal fit and looks.

What hull do you ride that splashes so much water in your face?

For me it's not even about the splash. The sun and glare kill me. When I wear a helmet I rock goggles. If not I wear gomer bombers.

Snowboard goggles (or other cold weather goggles) are double paned so less than ideal for water as it can get between the two. MX goggles would be a better choice.

There's a polarized version of the dragon hydro goggles that I'm going to use next year. They aren't the xl size like Oakley unfortunately

I've always used bomber glasses that I have tied with a shoestring to my vest. If using a helmet just get cheapos with thin arms from walmart. I use sunglasses at least twice a day with a full face motorcycle helmet no problem.

I'll have to agree, water seeps in and it all goes south from there!
MX goggles the way to go, foams off from the vents.

All that foam padding the insulates your eyes from the cold wind...will fill with water and fall apart plus make you look like one mean gaper.

I have a pair of the Oakley Hydros somewhere that I bought back in 99'. They sound like a great idea but they still take some time to drain. Better than snow goggles but I found them to be horrible to ride with and ditched them almost immediately.

I just started wearing tinted safety glasses with a floater strap. Safety glasses are always readily available at work but even if you had to buy them, they can be had for under $10/pair.

Take a horsefly to the eyeball at 60mph and then see how you feel. :p
I did back in 2006, Was doing some endurance training on my SXR (Leave boat ramp, Pin it WOT for 15-20 minutes, {half tank} then return WOT. Took one to the eye. Not fun at all. But we are not running 60 mph, most here are not running 50 mph, much less 40mph!
