I just finished putting a new jug on a yamaha 1200 powervalve and had it totaly put back togather. I dropped a 3 inch piece of soder in the fresh hole... What if I just let it break up nd work its way out???

Can you blow compresed air in there, to flush it out the exhaust port? It might get caught by the cat, but at least it won't be banging around in the jug.

I started it and let it idle for a sec. pulled the plug and saw nothing. Let it cool off and started it again. I reved it a couple times this time, When I pulled the plug it had pieces of soilder on it. not melted just tiny pieces.

Just take the head off and get it out and put the head back on. With a sj motor its like a 15 minute job????????????/ Dont see the issue. I difinately wouldnt run it with it in there. NO BRAINER.

That was my first response as well but it's a 1200 PV motor not a SJ...

I would have spent up to a half hour trying to fish it out and then just tore into it. There was a time when I would have gambled and fired it up as well but never on a fancy new engine.

U shoulda never started it with foreign matter in the engine IMO. Now your 1 problem turned into many tiny ones. The idea of gum on a stick mighta worked before the engine was run.

May even be worth pulling the block and cleaning out the case real good. Better to do the job right the first time then do it with 1 or 2 mistakes and end up with gushing oil at the bottom of the ocean.
