Hey.

I recently purchased a '90 701 SJ with a b-pipe and a couple of other goodies. I really want to learn the ins and outs of the inside of my new machine. Are there any online resources that you would recommend to a complete mechanic noob? I've never wrenched anything in my life, so some of the threads I found while searching were too complex.

Is it as simple as reading the manual (previous owner is trying to locate it).

Really, this site is going to be about the best online resource you can find. The SEARCH function is your friend.

Don't worry about the Yamaha manual, unless it is the big thick factory service book - those are pricey.

What are the other goodies the ski has? Throw some pics up here.

Does the ski run well right now? Get out and ride before you really start wrenching - get a feel for the ski so you can see/feel/hear improvements as you modify.

Other than that, welcome to the board.
