would i have to create like a mold or something to rebuild the lip? maybe like some styrafoam with some wax paper?

fix it yourself. When your ready to do it then I would start posting more questions. It really isnt that bad of a repair. All you will need to do is order some glass and expoxy from uscomposites.com

thanks for all the answers guys. Im going to procceed with chopping the hull sometime this week and fix it myself, or if I cant get a part i can get some help from a professional.

eh, im commited now either way. if i dont do a top deck conversion im getting a roundie hull. ive already sold some stuff that i really dont want to buy again for a square

Well Im not sure if this is good news or bad, I just had a guy we know look at it that does fiberglass, and has done it for over 30 years. He told me that In materials it would be less than 200 to fix it.
Soo that kinda throws everything out of wack. He said he would supervise me and give me tips whenever I needed it. But I'm not sure I want to put the time into it. And I dont want a square anymore anyways. So i might just get a round nose hull and then when the money allows I can order some fiberglass stuff and repair my old hull just for learning purposes.
