Hooray for unique parts with incredulous power potential and no spare parts.

The way I see it, that's 5 more things to break.

I rember seeing Fishetti run one of those back in the early 90's on an x-2

Yes, it sure did sound funky!

but did it actually work good?? kinda a cool though.....supercharger driven off of the output shaft. when the piston is down wouldnt it just push air right through the cylinder over top of the piston from transfer ports to exhaust port?

lol - i can't afford the carbon credits for the mix it spits out the exhaust.

probably more rotational mass and weight then i would want to add. might not brap but i bet it zings

That's very interesting. I imagine that the crank case compression pressure, reed tension, and super charger pressure need to be very carefully tuned together.
Otherwise that thing just keeps the reeds open all the time.

From the offset centerline of the bearing cap I'm thinking it is a vane pump, probably fairly low boost and reletively quiet due to the lack of gears. Anybody have any details on it ?

"The Fish" had a supercharged 550 back in the day too. All I remember of it was that it would consume the 3.5 gal tank in about 15 minutes. Don't think it worked very well for racing, although they tried.

Where did that pic come from?

Remember guys, trial and error. I bet there is a lot of cool stuff out there that didn't work well, but seemed like a good idea at the time.
I wanna see more of that thing.

johnny'os jet ski in austin .this was a camden blower.had them on 550's and 650's.the advantage was great torque and mild port timing.would suck gas and pipe dimension not so critical for max power.very easy to ride, tractable.this and a pv lamey and your arms will stretch.the 650's were ok.the 550's a bit more tempermental but hauled butt at the time.bottom end would not survive the abuse.had one with a stroker also in 550.very fast but cranks would die real early.nice to see one again.
