300/440/550 SoCal 550sx help

I have my 91 550sx reed ski that I can't get started. I put on a new stator from jetski solutions, and changed eboxes. It has spark and compression (180/hole) even dumped fuel in the carb and still nothing. It's probably something stupid bit I'm stumped. I'm looking for somebody in the San Clemente area to help me diagnose/repair it. Thanks all.

Tried fresh plugs. Was thinking maybe timing, was hoping somebody could come check it out double check everything.

I originally thought that was the problem, so I replaced it. I did line it up, but how far off could it be before it causes problems?

Unless your timing is completely off, it should fire. My guess is the crankcase is full of fuel. Are the plugs soaking wet? If they are, pull the plugs and the main fuel line from the carb. Plug the fuel line with a golf tee. Crank the engine over, being careful not to create a spark from the plug boots near the plug holes. Put your finger or rag over the spark plug hole as your cranking it and see if it spits fuel when you make compression. If it does, you'll have to dry it out before it will fire.
Knowing nothing about your ski, this a complete guess and probably a long shot. However, you can rule it out in just a few minutes.
I can't tell you how many times I have seen this happen with all types of 2-stokes.
good luck.

So. ... I checked everything, got it back together and it had the loudest backfire I've ever heard. Any thoughts? I'm afraid to crank or again, all my neighbors came out and everything lol

If you had fuel sitting it could have backfired because of it stuck in the exhaust. If it backfires every time you try to start it that's different and then you could run into problems. Not sure on the wiring hook up but if you have spark and compression, it should have a response if you put fuel in carbs or down the cylinders. If you need someone to help you there's shops from LA to SD but Im not sure who is closes to you. If you want help PM me and get my number and we can talk on the phone tomorrow

The last time I had a ski backfire like it did was when I put my msd in my superjet and two of the wires were switched. So that's why I was thinking the wires could be wrong. Can somebody please confirm or deny that I have it wired correctly?

I would assume that the backfire is due to the excessive fuel in the crankcase and exhaust. Like Mike B said, if this isn't the case, then your timing could be way off.
Are the plugs soaked? Have you tried what I suggested?
