Solas or R&D Scoop Intake Grate on Stock 2015 SJ?

I am grabbing a new intake grate for my new 2015 SJ that is bone stock except and extended pump nozzle. I have two local options of an R&D or a Solas. What would you suggest? Trying to keep it under $100 if possible.

Which R&D is it? If it's the Solas double scoop, it works okay. Don't expect the best hookup, but still better than stock and can easily be found for under $100. If the R&D is the LTD race grate, it hooks like crazy, body won't roll much in corners, but if you need to hookup in wash and race chop, it works awesome. Jet dyanamics also hooks up well similar to R&D LTD. Worx 228 works really well for rec riding and racing.

I have a Jet Dynamics grate that I don't use anymore, don't know if it will fit your ski - fit my 01 RN just fine. Big scoop, will work well for what your describing in what your looking for. $50 + shipping & PP fee (or use gift option). Can send pictures this weekend

Sold as long as it fits. Can you shoot me a picture of it? Is it in good overall shape?

My research says the same, should bolt right up. Fit my ski just fine.
I'll shoot some pics this weekend when I pick it up.
Like I said, I got it from a guy in Miami as a combo with a JD extended rideplate (think I paid $150 for the pair). Its an older model, does not have a model # on it, just says Jet Dynamics. Its in great shape, no corrosion, no dings.
My experience with it: great hookup, loads the pump strong, did get a little porpoise on the top end (never tried shimming with washers to alter scoop angle), it's kind of like a Worx 201 but maybe a little more aggressive. Brakes pretty good when off the throttle, that'll take a little getting used to compared to stock.
Ran it with the JD rideplate, hooker 9/15, Ada head, b-pipe.
Yes, price is right - I've gotten my share of hook-ups from fellow riders on the X and Green Hulk. Would rather it be in use than sitting on a shelf :) Pics soon

I would recommend not shimming at first on the 08+ hull, you may not need them, especially with JD. They are pretty aggressive. Old hulls, yes, definitely needs shims.

This board is awesome! I just joined and appreciate the hookup. Can't wait to pay for it and get it on. Taking the new SJ out for the first full ride today so will be fun to compare stock to the new grate.

Do you recommend the Jet Dynamics grate over the Worx WR228? Is the Worx still a good option but slightly less aggressive?

I’ve run both, both are very good. Can’t go wrong imo. Don’t assume the 228 is any more or less aggressive than JD though. The 228 hangs a good 1/2” below the hull.

A few scrapes but still ready to ride!
