Blaster Solas prop any good

YB-SC-S solas prop. I got in a box of ski parts I bought. Would this be a good prop for a B1?
Stand up? What do think?

The YB-SC-S is a 14/17 I believe. I ran one of these on a limited B1 years ago. It was a decent prop.

My B1 has pipe with intake porting and lighten flywheel, MSD etc. do u remember if it was better for low end? Better than Stock would u say. I run a 10/16 Hooker on another B1 with mag pump. Flat water and wouldn't go back to stock.

YQ (big hubs are best)

I have a brand new 9/15 YQ ($275 new) for $200 shipped. It was a new Solas YQ big hub prop that Impros bent and refinished to a 9/15
YQ will let a B pipe limited spin to 7000 and hit hard.

Not exactly the same but I am running a Solas 12/18 big hub in my 96 B1 with BPipe etc, awesome low end in the surf but can still get decent speed up on top. I went with the big hub thinking of future upgrade to mag pump, not done it yet but still love this prop!

my 9/15 started life as a 12/18. the 9/15 will let the boat spin 200-250 more rpm. In a blaster with right setup it will turn 7200. It will out accelerate the 12/18 but might be 1 mph slower up top.

The Solas "S" is a little lighter load than a stock blaster prop. You can improve the low speed pull by raising the trailing edge 1/8" or more as needed. The big hubs prime faster which makes a significant difference in rough water.

So in my mind a lighter loading prop should help top end a bit. Yes I'm running a big hub prop with 12 vine now on one ski this S prop is a freebie that came with box of parts. I know it's all about what motor tweaks I have that will benefit from prop to prop. Too hot in garage this time of year to swap just to try it. This would be an alternate choice for my other B1 modified ski to try it on. If the yield is so small not worth a hot 2 hours changing over unless someone tells me different, looking for a benefit here. Thanks.
