Solostove

I saw a similar design years ago. I've considered building my own, and still might if I shorten my to-do list. It might be a bit harder to keep going than a normal bonfire, but the burn would definitely be cleaner if you can keep it hot enough.

Anybody here bought one of these?

They are pretty awesome! I have a few friends with them and they are really nice. My girlfriend and I were just about to buy one, and then she found this one made by Tiki, so we bought this one instead because she likes the looks of this one better.

I’ve used a solo stove (not mine), and while I am a huge fan of secondary combustion, they didn’t thrill me. Biggest reason is I like seeing through into the fire. Front loading washer drum is my favorite! I’m up to three so far.

We had one, if you keep the wood level below the rim it does an ok job of reducing smoke but it’s not smokeless like advertised. We actually didn’t care for ours and my wife gave it away. We have fires in the cool evenings and the barrel blocks literally all the warmth. Takes most of the fun out of the fire to be honest.

Been wanting one for our RV trips. But want to see one in person before we fork out that kind of money.

I posted about them when they were still in the crowd sourcing stage. I think they are awesome but way too expensive and I couldn't ever pull the trigger on one.
Our neighbors bought one a few months ago and I have yet to see them use it.

They come on sale all the time but my wife has zero interest, plus we don't have a backyard at this house so I'm boned.

We have been getting the stainless washing machine drums for $50 from a local appliance repair shop. The ones he has been selling have a big aluminum pulley on the back and makes a perfect integrated stand

I think there are better options out there!
