So what's the cost on these hoods? Can you just re-use all the existing cables (steering and throttle) You should be able to just swap them out right? Will they fit a sn sj?

If Tom21 is watching send me a pm w/ the details.

the steering is the holdup. I have been trying to get Pat at x-metal to make one but I think he is a little too busy. I have another person looking at it as of friday. the x-2 steering from UMI has been made to work on others but is not perfect for it or cheap. I have a goal of between 1200 and 1500 for a complete setup. Bracket, hood, steering and all the rest transfers over from the pole.

At this point I am not even going to try and say how long it will take-as its been a ridiculous amount of time already. If/when I have a steering it will be available, once the steering is done I will proceed with the 80% complete square and then move on to the sxr version. no steering- no point.

Lots of people have tried to beat me to the punch on this project, so far none are equal to the original maros hood IMO. I just refuse to make it halfazz just to get it done. I am sure I have lost a lot of potential buyers because of that, I am sorry to let anyone down. I am just one guy fixin skis and making glass parts cause I am a rider and think I can make some stuff better or cheaper or just plain want to have it for myself.

If you can't stand it any longer and want to pay the 300-400 for a UMI or have one already- pm me. things can be worked out. otherwise my version will be ready when I have a steering.

I can wait. I'd also like to try one out before I drop the cash. Definitely keep us updated on the sn hood. I've subscribed to the build thread.

Like I said before, of the versions out there, I like Tom's better! You lines are more fluid and clean. Not a coffee can put on top of a hood with some X2 or other sit down steering bolted to it.

You don't have to worry about me waiting.. I don't even have an SJ! lol One day though, one day...

when I win lotto all this and more will be reality. or some crazy bastid with money falling out of his pockets wants to go nuts, either works for me. I really want to stuff a yami 4-stroke in a sj- just to see if its fun. gotta have dreams. sigh- someday.:jester:

I really like the hood with the stock stickers on it. lets hear some more reports on how you guys like it. It only takes a few minutes to get comfortable on that ski. looks like it would be awful on your back but reality is its a perfect fit. at least for me.

and I apologize for the threadjack.:twak:
