Use this thread to post links to good options for beach cart wheels. Nylon or otherwise

Florida Sailcraft is the source I use for replacement nylon rims for use on my beach carts. I believe that they have the rims manufactured and imported specifically for them which explains why they are not found anywhere else.

Bigfoot nylon replacement wheel;

Bigfoot replacement rim. 8″ x 7″ nylon composite construction. Contains 2 nylon knockout flange bushings that fit to a 1″ axle. Bushings are replaceable. Heavy duty composite bushings are available as an option. Uses a Schrader / car style valve stem. This rim is of a tubeless design.

My TBM came with Carlisle Fairway Pros so that's what I have been sticking with.

I've considered replacing the tires on my big foot cart but I just can't bring myself to spend the money. Almost 6 years ago I put tube in the tires because they where dry rotted and wouldn't hold air. To this day I've added air to those tubes like twice. They where cheap lawn mower tire tubes from wallmart. I just drilled holes in the plastic rims for the valve stem. They are heavy though...

The rim is actually pretty light so most of the weight is in the rubber. I imagine the balloon tires with no tread are much lighter.

That's awesome information, thanks guys. I really want to build myself a "low boy" cart per say. I need something i can get my ski on by myself, when waters are rough. Anyone know where to buy the axle and hardware needed to use those carlisle 18x9.5 tires? if i can find an axle the right length to allow the ski to sit in between the tires, the rest will be easy enough. I'd buy a low boy if anyone has one for sale? i know i'll probably end up spending the same or more money building my own.

ive made replacement bushings before, i could also make wheels if needed. i have a 20" diameter on my lathe. still probably cheaper to out source unless the option to do so isn't there

Any golf cart or Large Lawn mower supplier ( golf course equipment ) normally has tires and rims with different threads and axle options....

I have 2 sets of beach cart tires ( sand - flat ) one new one used as well as some used rims from a JETLIFT for sale...

I thought about making a couple as well but man, what does a block of material that big cost? I'm betting over $80 plus machine time.?.?.?.?
It's not really worth messing with when the nylon rims are only $40 a piece.

Agreed OCD. Probably source material cheaper but unless you are doing it for yourself just as a project doubt it's worth it. Now delrin bushings aren't any trouble. I've made some problem solver ones from wheels that have been ran till the wheel got good and wallowed out to save the wheel.
