I'm wondering myself. I've kind of avoided asking the question in case there is some "flying under the radar" which I don't want to screw up. I'm itchin' to go ridin' tho, so hoping to get some positive news somewhere. I guess Fiesta Island is open to car traffic on July 6th. I haven't gotten the wife onboard for an AZ river trip yet, but I think that's the best way to go to get some riding in during the 'rona.

Went down last weekend and the barriers are down and you can access the dolly launch area, all the kite surfers were out so I think its a go. Post if you go on a Sunday or weekday.

Just throwing out another option: Elsinore. Seems like Launch Pointe (La Laguna) is open, so that might also be an idea before the water turns too foul. I'm up for either place.

I woke up with a painful ear infection. I think a spider bit me in my ear a few days ago, and it's been getting worse. Hopefully the damn thing vacated, but I better get it checked out today.
So unfortunately, I'm out for this weekend. My plan is to be at Fiesta on the 6th. I sure hope San Diego doesn't renege on the opening date.

How’s the ear? I hit Elsinore last Thurs, it was amazing, winds were howling. I launch at West Marina just past the new city launch ramp at least every two weeks but the water is going south soon, down for weekday LB afternoon rides too. I got a 10 day course of antibiotics for the ear infection. Infection seems to be knocked down, but ear is still draining. Hopefully it'll clear soon.
Yeah, Elsinore is probably done for the season. Water must be getting pretty foul by now, but it was probably nice a few months ago after all that rain.
Looking forward to hitting Fiesta next week, but there is a good chance they won't reopen the island. Luckily (?) they selected an opening date after the 4th, so maybe they'll stick to the original plan. I'll let you know next time I head up to Long Beach.

That's a bummer. I've been going to Fiesta since they opened in July. Last couple of weekends it's been a solid group down there. Pretty fun times. Hope they don't get any similar ideas.

I was down there yesterday afternoon and it was open and quite crowded on the beach and parking lot you would`nt know there was a pandemic. I was in OC for work and I felt like taking a ride through the old neighborhood and my old stomping grounds at Granada as I moved out of Cali over a year ago. I really miss riding out in that harbor going outside the breakwall in the open ocean making a big loop then hitting some surf at surfside. Alot of years riding down there year round 3-4 days a week the freedom man I miss riding in the ocean wide open every direction. Sunday morning all the Racers would show up at 10am BS then setup buoys ride several sessions in 3ft swells It will probably never be like that again hope you guys can carry on as best as you can keep the place alive. Now I ride in a narrow crowded shallow river here in Bullhead Az. Its ok but I miss that salty cool air. Think I will getup early and ride some buoys at body beach before it gets to be 118 lol

I follow this thread constantly, I have family down there (my girlfriends family) and I am always looking for em excuse to take her to see her grandpa haha he’s on like 6th st and cherry so I have parking for my ski and it’s so close. I want to go out and take my skis so whenever someone wants to make a good ride weekend happen let me know!

Not sure if anyone rides here much anymore best bet is a Sunday morning 10am but I would be surprised. Text Joe the original poster or just bring a beach tote and drag your ski down there on a Sunday morning and let us know if anyone was down there.
