Other Southern California Ski Freindly Lakes

Lake Lahontan
Lake Pyramid ( not my favorite )
Boca Reservoir ( clean water )
Stampede Reservoir
Frenchman Lake
Lake Rollins ( great camp ground, great water )
Camp Far West ( flat, freestylin )

That would be cool, but the all those lakes are a 12 hour drive from me .. I'm in southern cali, and the two lake pyrimands we are talking about are different lakes .. haha

If your skis have a basic level of maintenance, they won't need much to keep running in surf.

You all should come and ride Arizona we have the best lakes, no rules, no moss, no skiing in circles ....... ahhhh total freedom and clothing is optional!!!! LOL

i ride at lake perris all the time, because its 15min from my house.. its pretty good, 10bucks per car 8bucks per boat(ski) they have there "no freestyle" rools, but have never done more than tell me to knock it off, wich they rarly do unless its a super crowded weekend.
also their ramps are pretty nice, and they do have camping, charge per night, not sure how much but their website has lots of info.

At Perris dont you have to stay in a circle around the rock island?

You'd be MUCH MUCH happier riding surf.

Surf is wonderful, but you may also find a nice river with big yahts and bayliners throwin big wakes. The best part about chasin boats is the wakes just keep comin. Sometimes at the delta we can chase a boat for 4-5 miles hit after hit after hit. 3-6 rollers depending on the size of the boat. The deep water channels make nice rollers.

That's pretty much the only reason for me to keep riding flatwater at all - constant hope of boat wakes.

florida is like a police state compared to where i live..dont cause any problems and u arnt going to have any...

Sounds depressing.

Is there anything out in California that isn't heavily regulated ?

I remember the images I had in my head growing up behind the Iron Curtain. Boy, was I wrong.

In San Diego at the beginning of the summer it is funny when we see ALL of the arizona people or the zoners come to town looking for fun at the beach and a break from the heat. Laser do you guys ever ride the river in az ??? Its probably funny for you guys watching all of the people from cali come to play in the river. Az can be fun with or without clothes..............

i live here in paso and nacimiento is a good jetski lake. we ride here all the time. we have buddys that make wakes for us but you do have to be carefull and watch for the dam rangers because they are sneaky. but if your cool about it then they usually are cool back.

Not sure where you get your info from... I cant think of ANY major lakes in my area I cant ride in. Plus I can ride up and down the entire coast anywhere I want except for a few very isolated spots. Matter of fact they repealed laws that specifically excluded PWCS from an area (if a boat is allowed, a ski is allowed)

If you were generally speaking about the police presence were you live, you have been watching too many episodes of Cops or Miami Vice.

Boris, the only thing that is not regulated in CA is herb.

I figured that they had the Herb so nothing else matters.

Yep. Florida is a police state. Don't come over here what ever you do.
Sick of all the Cali tags on my local police patrolled streets lately anyway.

Anyone ever been to Silverwood Lake ..??

Sh@$#%% hole dude, one of the worst. Heavily regulated and the altitude kills your skis power. Since you live in OC you basicly have about 5 riding spots within reasonable distance. Theres Elsinore and Perris which both suck about equally. Next is Silverwood which sucks even more. Then theres Pudding stone which sucks the most. If you go to Elsinore you might as well drive another 15min to the back channel at Canyon Lake. Its very small but its not regulated. Better yet just suck it up and ride salt water. Are you really that worried about the resale value of your 650? Seriously I'm not trying to be an a$$ its just that there's people on here that would kill to live as close as you do to great surf riding. You don't know how lucky you are.

Holy crap, 3300 ft .... D*mn .... And no I'm not worried about the resale of the skis, I'm more worried about having to keep up with all the repairs .. I hear about everyone just breaking everything when they ride surf ....

And I totally plan to ride surf, but I don't have that much experience under my belt .. And that is what worries me the most, going out and just killing myself because I don't ride correctly .. That is why I'm trying to find local lakes that I can hit up a lot and get the experience on the 550, flatwater .. Move to surf .. Then hoping up grade to a SJ ....

Also I know there is whole sh*t load of people that would love to live out here, and yes you're right with being so close to the surf .. And I'm shure as soon as I ride it, I'll be there all the time .. Won't be able to get enough of it .... But I haven't yet, I'm working my way there ..
