Crammit and I got to see the Delta Heavy 4 launch in January and that was the most awesome thing I have ever seen/felt/heard. The only comparison I can think of is being next to a top fuel dragster when it launches.

No he will not!
I have a guy here in my class tonight that works @ KSC, he works with umbilicals on the Shuttle. He's telling me we probably won't be able to launch for a few days minimum, and maybe not before the Monday cut-off....which would hold us up till April 7th-ish. This mission is taking it's own sweet time!

Saw that too. It was really cool (from daytona). Up close must be INTENSE!

If you guys like check out the ISS when it comes over your house, this site is pretty cool, http://www.heavens-above.com/ . It's a little more user friendly than Nasa's satellite tracking page. You can set your watch by it. You might get a chance to see the link up/detach of the shuttle when it flies overhead.

my bud who works for a subcontractor said they may go up Monday at the earliest. It takes like 20 hrs to purge the area and then they need to get access to the area and fix it.. It's suppose to not be a big deal though...

Looks like we're on for 7:43pm tomorrow night :bananapowerslide: The leaking QD was replaced and is expected to fix the issues, but that will not be known for sure until ET tanking is complete tomorrow after lunch. If all is well, we'll be making daylight just after sunset......which is just about the coolest time to launch. It's pretty awesome to launch in dusk, then fly high enough to find sunlight on the way up hill.

had a pretty good view from the west coast... I was not sure how much we would see with the cloud cover but we could see the whole thing pretty well.
