Spare/backup parts..What breaks, and what's good to have laying around?

I'm gonna be thrashing my ski around quite a bit this summer working on rolls, inverts, and possibly try out some backies on lake michigan. I've reinforced my ski throughout and it's ready to take a beating, but that doesn't mean all of my parts are! I'm running stock motor mounts for now, but I'm buying some surf straps off of liquid graffix to prevent damage if/when they break after aerials. I plan on having a set of couch mounts as spares. I'm running an OCD coil so I shouldn't have any issues there, RN pole & limit rope so it shouldn't be weak like the old square pole. Ride plate, I've already got a spare in case my stocker cracks.

So anyways, what parts do you guys have as spares/backup incase something breaks? I think it'd be good to get a list going. Usually if something breaks I just hitup jetmaniac and I have it in a couple days, but it'd be nicer to have spares lying around for a quick fix.
Thoughts?

Starter, bendix, throttle cable, earth leads, starter and battery leads. Pv bellows, all o rings and gaskets. Spare engine mounts.
Agreed. U can't have it all but common failure points that can screw a weekend are listed here. I keep an abundance of gaskets, orings, RTV silicone and JB Weld for sealing leaks on the fly. Aside from a complete backup ski this list will keep going. Metric tap and die kit, spark plugs, spare batteries and extra lanyards are the only things I'd add. Having Jetmaniac on ur side usually means ur only 1-3 days from having any parts u need.

Yep. I try to always have those plus:
spare coil
spare start/stop
spare reduction and steering nozzles (if you have AM hull wit it sticking out)
atleast 2 of each bolt off a SJ (including all pump and steering parts)
fuel filters, check valve, and extra line
spare starter fuses
spare BPIPE coupler
flywheel puller and torque wrench

Square nose hulls are extremely fragile when it comes to any side landings. It wont take long before the top deck caves in or the hood latch breaks. A hood strap and limit rope will get you through the day but you will be doing major hull repairs before you master a roll.

Yup, that's the reason why I reinforced everything and am running the limiter/ratchet strap. I just need to finish my hood liner but my square hood barely flexes at all now just with a layer of 1208, and it'll just get better when I add a liner. One layer of 1208 in the rear inner gunwales, strong tray, 1708 biax on the sides of the engine bay including 3 layers underneath the pole bracket area as well. Also, used some 10 oz glass underneath my hood seal area to add some strength as well. Everything feels strong now.

Necessity is the mother of invention. I was stranded at a ride 6 hours trip from home with a ski
that broke a throttle cable end. I bought the longest bicycle cable I could find and modified the aluminum thread-on plug tip to fit the throttle arm on the carb. Drill a little hole in the grooved portion to fit whatever cable you need to run, file the o.d. a touch around the cap to fit your throttle wheel, and thread in a little screw to help bind the cable. Make a dozen of them in your spare time at home so you always have replaceable cable ends, they use about as much space as half of a sparkplug

I try and stay up on maintenance constantly checking the torque on bolts, making sure the ski starts the night before, float charge the battery the night before etc. And bring an extra ski. I would highly recommend a blaster, fun as hell and full of spare parts for the sj. ;)

I take my Rubbermaid tub with me everywhere I go. Everything inside of it is organized into Tupperware tubs and labeled on the lids of whats in the box. Anything from a tub of misc nuts and bolts, to motor mounts, cables, grips, plugs, electrical connectors, ect..... If I cant jerry rig something out at the lake with all the parts my tub supplies, its time to crack the brews open or pack up the trailer.
