is a spark motr
but why

Why not? 800 motor with pipe and head about same horsepower as a spark with a flashed ecu. Spark motor is quiet, very low fuel consumption and legal on all waterways. It's a sxr, so the disadvantages of weight and poor water ingestion are really not that big of a deal.

I just got my wife a limited sxr. She is just going to cruise and ride some bouys. Spark motor would probably be great for her.

Looks like the motor is just sitting in the hull. There seems to be a few loose electrical connections. Anyone see the gas tank?

Pretty cool idea. Not sure I would want to be the guy working on it though, not a lot of room.

I love it and still want to try it for myself. If it fell short of my expectations, it would probably be perfect for my wife.

You would almost have to build the hull from scratch and make it so the top deck bolted on/off like the spark does.

You might be on to something there!

Sure would be nice if Kawi, Yamaha or Sea Doo produced a 4-stroke ski. We all know they are capable, I feel that margin and market share are holding it back.

They have the tech for a DI low emission two stroke..

In the early 1990s, an Australian firm, the Orbital Engine Company, developed a two-stroke automobile engine that met then-current U.S. emissions requirements, exceeded the four-stroke fuel efficiency numbers, weighed almost 200 pounds less than a four-stroke that produced similar power, vibrated less than an equivalent four-stroke and cost from $300 to $500 less to manufacture.

Yamaha builds two-stroke outboards with High-Pressure Direct Injection (HPDI). The 200 HPDI engine has twin, high-speed fuel pumps that pressurize the gas up to 1,000 psi, and then inject the fuel after the exhaust ports are closed. The system is similar to injection systems on diesel engines.

Psssh...he put the throttle lever like that because he is just going to ride around on his knees all day so he can get a good view of that instrument panel.
