Dudes , out on the lake today ripping around. Engine dies , thought lanyard came off , still on. Fitted a new pair of plugs , turning over as normal but no spark...... What needs replacing now.....!!! HELP..
I second that. Many skis I've owned had issues with that connection of the black and white plug near the ebox. See if the connections are corroded, if they are spend some money on good contact cleaner and dielectric grease. Spray it, wire brush it, grease it, and run it.
Dudes , i checked out those wires/connectors and all is well. Still no spark , going to change the coil , does the Fx1 share the same coil as the superjet.? Also because i have beefed up my engine (ada head/b pipe etc) should i fit a stronger coil , would it last longer and where would i be able to buy same ..... Thanks.
@JetManiac has nice upgraded coils for sale. While you have the ebox open test the stator coil with an ohm meter. Ask jetmaniac for the specs when u order the coil. Also check in the ebox for any loose grounds.
just looking at the connectors on the SS switch is not enough, open it up at the handle bar and open, clean, grease and reassemble the switchs (both) , or try a known good switch. they get a light corrosion on the small brass contact pads inside and will cause your symptoms to a TEE!
Test all electrical components. Use this guide : http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?t=40840
This way you can diagnose with certainty the faulty component, instead of chasing a problem by swapping parts.
Did this on my fx, and found it was the CDI causing my spark issue.
Good Luck!
