Been running BR7ES BR8ES in everything for years, no issues, an MSD ignition will fire anything , the older type total loss ignitions do not have the spark energy to fire resistor plugs and or resistor caps or wires, I have run into that issue a few times , most of your basic ignitions like on a 650SX or a Superjet are not affected by ignition noise and will run non resistor plugs just fine, Seadoo or Kawasaki DC cdi ignitions it will wreak havoc on them because it can't filter the ignition noise out.

One other point I need to make resistor means built in resistance which takes more spark energy to fire the plug,in the case of plug caps the resistance is usually 5k ohms, if your ignition is weak already running resistor plugs and resistor caps is hindering it more, add some 25 year old spark plug wires into the mix and you have real ignition issues.

I ran across an example of this when I worked on the Dave Gordon world finals ski, someone had put nice yellow 7mm resistor wires , NGK resistor spark plug boots and NGK resistor plugs in the ski, in the water it barely ran. I removed all of that and ran Tractor spark plug wires which are straight copper wires , automotive style spark plug caps and non resistor plugs in the ski the difference was night and day, it was running dyna type total loss.
