Sponsons on 08+

Thinking of getting destroyer sponsons on my 2014 superjet. I know there are positive affects with them but just wondering what experiences everyone else has had who tried them on their 08+ hull. Any negatives to them or is it all gains? I do all types of riding. River Rapids, buoy racing and surf sometimes

I installed tubbies on my 08 superjet definately improved handling in surf . IMO they help more if your a heavier rider I am 200+lbs and they keep you from subbing while chasing buoys in choppy water . I noticed alittle chine wobble at speed with them when riding smooth water with a stock rideplate . A TBM rideplate mostly cured that
I dont think installing them with change the handling drastically but i think they help . Have Fun

Get them, you won't regret it. In my experience they keep the nose from pearling as you ride down the face of a wave, provide better stability in all conditions, and make the ski carve harder. I've noticed a little chine walk as well, at slower speeds, but it's negligible

Very nice! Ya these hulls rail corners so hard as is so this Is gonna be sick! That's exactly the affect I want for surf. Nothin worse than trying to carve a wave and having the front end dive off hard under wanted and gettin swallowed up haha

I have the destroyers on my 2012 and love them, They keep your edge a lot better and help prevent the front from going under in hard corners.
