Square nose old school carbon top deck!!!

OK, I'm a square guy. I love the look and feel of a square. I truly believe they are a superior ski to the roundy. If you disagree, this thread is not intended to hash out an old argument. This is for guys like me that prefer the lines of a modern Cadillac to the lines of a '70 Vette. My delima is that although I love the square, the only way to make my beloved square lighter is to change it to a roundy. SO, what I want to know is if anyone would be interested in building me a carbon top deck with a square look. I'm serious. I will pay some good money for a carbon top and hood if anyone is interested. I will even donate a hull for the mold. I'm sure there is a market for this ski. I would also be interested in paying someone to show me how to make a mold, ect. so I can do this myself.

Sure for enough money I will build you anything you want,I will make it just like you want it if it takes every cent you have.

Sadly, this just ain't going to happen.

Don't get me wrong, I would love a lighter stronger square but the market just isn't there.
The average Joe will just follow the heard and build a round.

On a brighter note, ever see a Matrix or a Rickter ?

I know I'm just dreaming I guess. Maybe I'll chop up a hull one day and do it myself. I have thought of a Matrix. The Rickter looks sweet but I haven't seen pricing for a bare hull. Besides, I know how a square feels, I like it. If you lighten it up, It makes a more predictable change than buying an unknown hull. I have compleete confidence in my square in big surf and, I had a lightweight roundy years ago too. Yamaha skis rock, they are just too heavy for easy rolls unless you add seriouse HP. I'm going to go with a lightweight hull and a fairly mild motor with a killer pump. That way my money is in the things that don't go boom when water gets in it. I want something that will last through years of abuse and countless motors. One Idea was a lightened Wammer hull since they copy the stock bottom deck. But I would still prefer my bulletproof square bottom and a lightweight top deck. I may just do the conversion after all. :grumble:

Idea- Sn super jet + no foam + cut back a few inches + big power = fun

Power to weight ratio. Insead of dropping 6 grand on a carbon sn, pay 4 grand + on a motor.

i love my sn too (handling & look), but i had to make other experiences with the sn bottom deck (imo not so bulletproof!), so if you do a carbon top deck then also add a carbon bottom deck!

Yea, much lower pole mount, and the pump intake is smaller on the square like a stuffed pump roundie. The Sn is a little more stable and predictable at all speeds.

OK, that's a great Idea. I bet you shaved a ton of weight on the bottom deck too. How bout converting the bottom to a set back '08 at the same time? Save 30lbs and improve the carvability too. That's the way to go!!! OK Who can build me a Carbon/Kevlar weave '08 style bottom deck? I'll mod the front myself if necessary.

OK, I have a deal in the works. Once I get the proccess started, I'll post up a build. As soon as I have some extra $ or one of my FX-1s sell, I'm going to get started on a Carbon/Kevlar bottom deck conversion with the '08 style deck. This should be a killer ski losing 20-25 lbs. plus gain a modern bottom deck. Now if I could just get a Carbon square Hood made!!!
