Square to Round swap

What are the advantages of upgrading to a round nose hull over my current square? Would like to know if handling improves etc or other advantage.

Nothing really is diffident handling wise. I believe the pole mount might be lower but that’s about it. The 94-95 SN comes with a beefier mid shaft like the 96+ RN and a 701.

The bottom deck is the same other than the ride plate having 6 bolts on square, 4 larger bolts on round. You can run a square plate on a round and vice versa. Intake grate I dont know?

Rounds have many more options for aftermarket handle poles.

The thru hull exhaust tube is smaller on a square than the round. I have no idea if it makes a difference with big motors.

As said above from 1990-2007 the bottom deck is the same.

The upper deck is obviously different between the RN and SN.
They do handle a little different due to the riding position and pivot point of the hand pole.

The lighter weight of the RN handle pole also helps.
I would also say the fiberglass in the upper of the RN seems stronger than the brown glass used on the SN deck and hoods.

The only upgrades going from sn to rn is the handlepole can be shortened, the exhaust is slightly larger diameter, and it looks better. Handling is almost exactly the same with the pole interation with the top deck being the only slight difference. Not worth the $1500+ extra they cost. The other stuff can be swapped onto a sn like waterbox, dual carbs and impellor.
