Freestyle SS 865 motor temperature

Guys, I get a small/medium amount of oily residue in my PV bellows, this started me thinking the motor may not be running hot enough to burn the oil thoroughly.

Im running 99 octane and a good quality oil, PFP, total loss etc.

The PFP chamber gets to around 35 deg C and the waterbox around 100 - 120 deg C

what would you consider to be the optimal operating temp for the cylinders ? I run the waterlines open to overboard but might experiment with restrictors / temp guages to get the motor warmer.

Thanks, Keith.

Yeah i think its normal. Kyle @:)told me not to use Castor oil, because they had experinced that the "left" overs would be come to sticky in the bellows and at times stop or restrict the PV from movement.

From my understanding if it runs too cold the valves themselfs, not the bellows will get gummed up and not function properly because it's not burning off the oil. I'd pull the whole valve out and see if the oil is gummed up on it. If so try restricting the water lines to make it run hotter letting it burn off the oil more
