FX-1 Started my pump swap, what a mess

Run the steering cable to the top side of nozzle and bilge line will snake right around it......

Thats what i ended up doing. Everything is bolted up and the shaft slides in but it takes a little wiggling at first. It spins freely and silently so I'm hoping its all good. I just have to fill the huge gap a ground out with some 5200 so i don't get any cavitation then the motor goes back in. Im back in school now but I'm hoping to go home this weekend and finish the 5200 and start bolting the motor in so its ready to ride labor day. Of course the 5200 i got isn't the fast cure stuff so it takes quite a bit of time to work with it. I ground the glass out a good bit further then i should have in a couple parts but it should all seal up nice. I probably need to order new cooling and bilge lines since they will need to be a good bit longer i believe. At this point I'm just praying that when I get it all back together i don't get any problems from it.

Finished it all up on friday and rode all weekend. It rips pretty hard! I can't wait to add a b pipe now. I was a bit worried as my install wasn't as clean as it should have been but everything seems great. There is about a 1/4 gap in between the couplers but it seems to be fine. There is a tiny bit of cavitation at low speeds when turning and hitting the throttle a bit hard but aside from that it pulls hard from a stop until around 50 mph id guess.
At one point during the weekend I hit a steep roller just right and must have went nearly 10 feet into the air. It caught me quite off guard but was awesome feeling. Im used to getting 3-4 feet of air at most unless I have a boat setting wake for me maybe.

Aside from taking all summer to drop the pump in (it really wasn't that bad in hind sight, i just was lazy) it was well worth it. I didn't have many problems staying hooked before but its definitely improved all around. Plus all i need to do now is add a cable and have a trim setup too!
