started primeing my ski toda

started primeing my ski today didnt come out like i thought it would, i was useing matrix system mp-450, it came out real rough, was useing a conventional spray gun with a .8 tip, it called for a .7 tip. at 50 psi. it almost looks as if it had lint all over it. cleaned it off with acetone and tack cloth before paint, any help would be awsome.

thanks guys i started wet sanding till it got smooth, didnt have 400 on hand so used 320

if it came out like lint or looking furry like it has a bunch of little hairs in it you are using to much air..turn the air flow down at the gun some..basically you are drying parts of the primer before it lays down on the ski backing the air off should do wonders...get the primer flowing right by spraying some cardboard before you turn to the ski

You may need to thin the primer also. I had to cut mine big time.

heres some pics of my primer job, after wet sanding and washing off, missed a couple of spots not gonna worry bout it since its the hull.
