FWIW, you can pull it out without removing engine or manifold if you have a b-pipe.

Thanks, I am going to do what loictahiti said.... I don't want to wait for gaskets...Gonna turn the motor over and pull off half the bed plate.

....and yes Smurf, I do need a SJ expert. Madmat already helped me diagnose and told me I can pull the motor and set it on some 2x4's on top of the hull without taking the electrical off...

Hopefully there is enough wire for me to flip it over on the boards....better get wrenching.. It is out in my driveway and if it rains, I'm f'd.

I just replaced the starter in a old waverunner 3 in under an hour flip it over on it's side inside the ski and pull the bedplate. I don't know if there is enough room in a SJ but I would try before trying to lift it out.

Just put a motor in a WR 3, pretty sure a superjet has more room under the hood, seriously....

I have another to do this week. This is the year for starters..... I have put about a dozen starters in this year. This one has the original oil injection... I don't know if there is enough slack in the oil line but I will try. I might go ahead and remove the exhaust in case flipping it won't work. I know I don't want to remove the whole thing.

I pulled the motor and set it on a 2x12 on top of the hull (kept all the wires attached)..pushed it on its side and pull the bed plate. wasn't too bad. That stock pipe on the other hand is a whore if you want to get it off.
