Starting Troubles

I need some help getting my superjet running. I bought it about a month ago, rode it twice then it wouldnt spark, i had the ebox and switch rebuilt and when i hooked everything up it still wouldnt start, i believe my problem either lies in the switch. if i touch the brown wire off the relay with the red one the motor turns over, however once everything is hooked up nothing happens when the start button is depressed, where else should i look? i am brand new to superjets so i am learning as i go. i would drive and pay to have someone help me out, i would rather do that and watch than have it sit at a shop for a month before they get around to it, and even then i am hesistant because they dont see many superjets and my ebox has be changed a bit when it was cleaned up and rebuilt. any help is greatly appreciated, i will be out of computer contact for the weekend but will have my cell phone on 386-937-2565

i am located in palatka, fl 30min west from st. aug, 1 hour from daytona

The lanyard switch is a double pole switch. Half of it works to disable the start circuit unless the lanyard is present which effectively lets the switch be in the up position. The other half does the same as the stop switch which kills the ignition to stop the engine. Get an ohm meter and set it on the lowest setting and connect it between the brown/red wires coming from the switch. When you press the start switch with the lanyard present you should get close to 0 ohms, anything above 10 or 15 ohms is too much. If not then you need to further address the whole switch cluster and check for bad wires. Did you have the entire switch cluster rebuilt or just the start switch? This should be easy to troubleshoot if you or someone who knows how to use the ohm meter can just go through the circuit step by step.

There are several board members that live in the Daytona area. Bump this thread a few times and one of them is bound to chime in to help you. It is probably going to be something simple like a bad wire or connector. Good luck.

i pretty much think it was to be a bad connection somewhere or something simple i overlooked, i am going to charge the battery, reconnect and soder the four connections on my switch by the ebox and pray it turns over,

Ok I was just looking at the schematic and saw where you said you could cross the red / brown at the solenoid and it would crank. This means the relay is prolly good. Dumb question, did you replace the fuse? It only effects the start / charging circuit. Its worth a try, replace it even if it visibly looks good. I think it is a 10 amp, get one cheap at any auto parts store.
