static timing how to

I did a search already and came up with nothing. I know its probably here somewhere.
can someone maybe share a link on how to do this.
any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

Even the Yamaha service manuals skip over this. Possibly because the components don't vary enough to worry about it.?.?.?.?

As far as the manual goes, line the mark on the stator plate up with the mark in the cases and you are done. Static timing is set!

mine has no mark I think its a wsm unit

Can you post a picture of it?

IIRC somebody posted a picture of one awhile back and it was marked with small indentations instead of a raised line like an OEM.

Correct. Some have a mark, most don't. Great way to save money, eh?
