SX/SXi/SXi Pro Stator compatability between 750 models?

Are all Kawasaki 750 stators the same?

I'm still having occasional ignition problems and am thinking of trying a second hand stator from a 750sx in my SXI pro.

Kawasaki haven't changed these from one 750 to the next have they?

Just lifted this image from ebay.

An example of a Kawasaki 750 5 wire stator assembly.
What seems to be missing from the two bare lobes is what the manual refers to as the “exciting coil”.
I'm guessing it produces a highish (greater than 12 volts) voltage to charge the capacitor in the CDI. Is that right?
Why don't all CDIs need this?
Just curious.

i am interested in this too msd says there enhancer wont work on the 1996 zxi because the timing is already advanced from the factory is ther any way to tell what year stator that you would have

is there a way to tell this i bought a big pin motor that was already out of the ski so i dont know the year and either did the seller he just said it was a sit down model it may not even be a zxi i do have a msd enhancer that i would like to use but dont want to cause any damage to the motor being too far advanced so is the advance is in the cdi? or is the location of the pick up? if it was in the cdi why would the enhancer make a difference cause it takes the place of it any help greatly appreciated.

Leave nothing to chance, mark the flywheel and use a strobe to see where the timing actually is. The timing should retard to around 16 degrees at high rpm for low octane gas. The cdi marked 3738 is best for older style stators. I never messed with any newer DC ignitions.
