Steering cable for trim?

I have steering cable that I snapped the threaded end off of laying around.

In the near future I'll be adding CATS to a ski and currently I don't have a cable.

I was wondering if using the steering cable (after re-threading the one end) would be as good or better than some of the other options available?

Any thoughts?

I think the best option is the cable you can buy from X-metal. I run one on my fx-1 with full x-2 pump. Can't go wrong with a NEW cable the correct length and the right ends for $70ish.

Do you have any pics of your setup? I'm in the process of running the same setup on my fx1.
