Steering Cable Help

Well, running into another problem with the build on my chan. It seems the steering cable is entirely way too long. Are the round nose cables shorter than the square? If not, what do yall running shorter hulls do with all of the extra cable? It seems with the way my hull is, the extra cable is going to have to ride up on the side of the inside of the hull, and when I try pushing it up in the nose it seems like the cable is binding.

Im not sure on my rn after I shortened pole, had to route it like you got except think I had to snake it around front of motor under where b pipe would sit then back the other side under motor then in steering tube

Yeah, I figured it's fairly normal, but wasn't sure if there was some sort of magical configuration that would help it sit a bit more flat. It's not that it's binding really, just as it gets more bends, it doesn't move as freely.

there are shorter cables like the sitdowns cable you could try. id run it out of the pole to the left od the waterbox/tank, go under the motor then to the right side to exit the engine bay.

ps i want some feedback on how that chan is with a 61x. Its on my bucket list.

I dont know how you could. If i had a chan here id be up till 4am every night till it ran, then id be busting ice with a shovel so i could ride it on the lake.
