The throw is a lot shorter on the 08 too. It's like 3 inches when the 07 is like 3.75 and the old squarenose is over 4 inches.

Very helpful thankyou. On a side note if one had an 08 steering cable could they switch back to the 07 and earlier? I've heard it's needed for adjustable steering but I haven't been able to find out if it can be done in my a/m ski
