Steering upgrade on xmetal pole

can you run Over the pivot steering on an xmetal pole? I want to upgrade my steering (currently has a stock superjet turn plate.) I was thinking about going with the cold fusion 1 1/8 setup with RRP fat bars. Would this work with my handpole? The chin pad is really close to where the turn plate is in comparison to the RRP and blowsion poles so I wasn't sure if I'd have fitment issues.

May have to trim your chin pad or install a spacer between the pad and the pad support (This is what I did for fat bars to clear on my ADA Steering).
Do you like your ADA steering system? I'm not set on one brand or the other. I'm looking into quite a few but can't decide if I want to go with a bearing system or stay on bushings.

I personally can not tell a huge difference in the ovp steering compared to the standard stuff. I would stick with either a bushing system or something with a sealed bearing. I have been running an atp system for 4 or 5 seasons now and I haven't touched it, zero play too.

I run a OVP on my XMW pole and love it. However, you cant run OVP Steering on XMW unless you have the pole machined to accept OEM bushings. With that said its a very easy mod any machine shop can do for less than $30 takes all of 30 seconds to machine with a 10 minute setup.

OVP is awesome if you ride surf. Flat water guys it seems to be hit or miss. I make a OVP steering that will adjust from OVP to BTP (behind the pivot) so you can adapt it to your riding style which might be a good option if you plan on having your XMW pole opened up for OEM Bushings. Anyone know the difference in the blowsion OVP system and the blowsion OVP universal system? What in the world could be different from the blowsion handpole from any of the other brands?

The difference is the way they mount to the pole. Originally, I think the Blowsion OVP system was the first (or one of the first) OVP systems released. So to try and keep a competitve advantage, they made their OVP system only work for their pole. Then they probably realized people want that OVP system on their existing poles, so they created the universal OVP.
