Stinger and fuel tank spacing

Defiantly a balance between hot and melting, if you get the plastic too hot it will "squeeze" around the object you are pushing it with. If you let the heat soak a little longer it will just flex more and you'll have to hold it in place longer but it will stay once cooled. Don't stress the thickness too much, any plastic tank can be repaired!

Brapper, can you give us your Plastic HDPE Tank Repair Procedure?

Not as simple as it sounds as I've had a Pro Plastic Welder "repair" a modified OEM SuperJet Tank for me only to have pinhole leaks at the Weld....

I should say that I haven't actually done it so i'm not speaking from experience. I have seen plenty of motorcycle fuel tank repairs but just realized our PWC tanks hold pressure and not just the fuel. However I think if you took your time you could repair damages with a Plastic Welder like this

I think its similar to this tool.

I could also be completely wrong, but that's how I would try to fix it if I had a leak or needed to salvage a tank. I have also heard of people just lighting a piece of plastic on fire and letting it drip onto the hole and build up. Not sure if that would work 100% but I could see it working as a last resort...

I guess it is much harder than it looks! I have only had success at heating and molding a tank for clearance on my Superjet. I’ve never actually tried to repair a PWC tank, so much easier said than done!
