Stock Superjet 07, vs Stock Superjet 08

Hey Guys, I have been riding a stock Superjet 2007, for 4 months know and my twin wants to get into the sport and is thinking of buying a stock superjet 2008 or 2007 (the dealer is ready to sell the 07 at a discounted rate).

Id like to know has anyone ridden both machines?

Id like to upgrade them buy the end of the year when I got more experience under the belt.

Does that new hull really make a difference?

Thanks Guys
T

from what i've heard the 08 is the same except for the hull, has tubbies built in on the front, supposed to be a lot more stable and a better race boat for those that race them, now if you break it into a 180 slide....the slide will probably feel the same, a slide is a slide. Its different in the fact that it handles and rides better.

Wydopen,
Whats the breakdown between the 07 and the 08?

As in what makes the 08 better/worse than the 07..?

I love the feeling of sliding, if 08 dont slide then I would not go near it....

they do slide. anything will slide if you ask it to hard enough. the 08 wont slide out on you when you are racing corners. its predictable, and almost always saveable. i wont BS you, it took me some practice to get it to slide 180s controlably and consistenly. i can do it everytime now to hit my set up wake. i also can get going pretty fast in the mid range and slide it to 90 and just hold a power slide for 20 - 30 feet. it will still do it dont worry. if you lean the ski left or right and try to slide it wont budge. it will throw you off before it unhooks, but if you keep the body flat and it will slide like any other.

get the 08 if you have the money. they say some things are too good to be true, but in this case you really do have the best of both worlds. ..

plus the 08 has the tubbies, the set back pump, and large hub stainless prop. if you got the 07 you would have to/ want to change the prop. the 08 prop is still working great for me with dry pipe and head. its going to find itself in my 02 sj mid-summer.

if you can. get the 08, best ski i have ever ridden. even in stock form.

Officer Mike sums it up perfectly. My Bro has the '07 which I rode all last year and I took yesterday off work because I couldnt take it anymore to break in my '08, it handles like a dream, and the hype for the most part is true. If you can find one, and afford it, Knab it!

Its like comparing an SXI to an SXR, but where the SXR is heavier, more stable, and slower the new SJ feels lighter, is more nimble, and is faster.

i tryed to slide and got bucked so hard lol
pre 08 is what im sticking with...

oh and the wider hull isnt a tubbie like blowsions. the 08s can still use tubs. ross says its needed.

they are integrated. more ergonomical. is that a word? ... i cant imagine why it would need tubbies. or hoe tubbies on tubbies wouled even look

So is the '08 a worse choice for freestyle than pre-08's? That's the impression I'm getting

How about freeride/surf? Better or worse.
