Hey I need some tips and tricks to get my sxr faster with it all stock ? Mill head ? Bore Nozzle ?

Really need a pipe and a little more compression if the fuel you have available is adequate. I like the lightened flywheel also. What year is it? Timing advance? Dechoke the carbs doesn't hurt either.

How much do I need to take off the head ?

If its an 04+ sxr remove the flywheel magnet ,then jump the air temp sensor the rest would cost you $$

Yes going faster costs $$$, getting there quicker costs even more.

Ok i'm looking into jumping the air temp sensor on an 05 sxr, when doing this advance is running higher octane fuel necessary ? Trying to keep the cost down! What's the safest, low/mid/high ?

you cant make a stock boat go faster without spending money, it aint gonna happen. best bang for your buck is the factory dry pipe. makes a bone stock sxr do 54mph.

So on a stock 11' sxr a restrictor would be fine? That hole looks to be a bit smaller than an 1/8". Is this correct?

yes itll be fine. just make sure its getting some water so it stays cool...


im not sure size of my restrictor...was on pipe when i purchased it...

My son raced a sxi built by Rob .. at the world finals .. I was talking to him ( over a few coors haha ) at a party in Havasau and asked him how the hell does he get the boat to "stick" to the water so well around the corners .. I mean the boat he built for my buddy .. I was wanting to put sponsons on it he doesnt use them and said why dont you try the boat first .. I did and damn it hooked up so well !! I couldnt belive it .. he was saying its all about how its set up .. like a car with proper tires .. he wont divulge his recipe .. but i know he plumps the exhaust a little differently damn i didnt take a good look .. and i know he uses a top loader like all of us and I think he may adjust the prop pitch on a stock prop .. and the carb is adjusted just right to get teh power in all the right places .. all i know is that ski was pretty fast and hooked up VERY well
