Stock trim lives again!

Well after f---ing up my trim cable this past winter. I finally got the itch to buy the cable again and hook up the trim again. This time I added a new twist to hopefully help it.

The reduction and steering nozzles are stock off my 93 SJ. They were modified last year to make the "SCATS -Super Cheap Ass Trim System." Total expense to me was the 40 dollar cable. I also used a few scrap aluminum pieces around and an old bike lever.

This year I've cut the lever some to prevent it hitting my third finger. I've also added a bolt on wedge to the steering nozzle. Should have very minimal impact when trim is not in use, but help add some extra angle when the trim is pulled.

Props goes to MadRick, a british jetskier, where I got the ideas from. I'll give a report after this weekend on how the wedge does.

BRRAAAPPP!

BTW - the 'Fag' Madrick refers to in his instructions is English slang for a cigarette - not the America inturpritation!!:haha:

Hi guys,
Its good to see my " Nozzle Shoe " idea has made it across the water to you guys. Im looking forward to hear your thoughts on it.
If you want to go really BIG you need an MR Trim Kit. Ive joined forces with a local engineering company and come up with this - a stainless steel quick steer/trim kit. I've been testing the prototypes and am just waiting for the first production version for final testing. It lifts the nozzle by 15 degrees and looks sexy.

Cheers, Rick

That looks pretty good. If it cheaper than a new nozzle setup I'll be on your purchase list.

It's for the blaster. I think the 760 and added experience BFing the SJ will be enough....but I think I might add some trim for the last part of the rotation.

MADRICK, do you have a pic of it trimmed up? I don't see how that works w/o hitting the reduction nozzel. What about trimming it up and moving the nozzel side to side?

Hey MADRICK, if I can get a pic of that thing trimmed up, and a price, I'll probably be on the purchase list when you start selling

I can update the wedge trials.

I wasnt happy with it. Makes the nose seem to want to pop up to easily, the trim effect isnt as noticeable since its already up some. I took the wedge off and regained handling and trim was much more noticeable. Compared them back to back and had Geek ride it too back to back at the Wave Rave. Overall conclusion is stock trim good, wedge not so much.

CATS trim works the best though. Geek's trim worked better than my stock setup (which I had assumed.) I'll probably switch to CATS over the winter now that I have a job and can afford the extra parts. Hard to beat the stock trim though when your on the college budget.

i saw this today on your site and it looked pretty simple.

is it effective? why do you want to switch to regular cats?

does this put some strain on the steering cable or is it not that bad?

what reduction nozzel do you need to get for this to work?

thanks. might as well do these things when i am gonna refoam in a few months.

thanks
