Stuck 94 Blaster Flywheel

I bought the harmonic puller suggested from my local Advance auto. It fits perfectly. I tightened down and continued putting more tension on it for a week. I also occasionally tapped with a ball peen hammer. Flywheel did not move at all! I do not own an impact wrench/gun. I am concerned about damage to my crankshaft using a power impact. My ski runs well, and while I do want to lighten the flywheel, I really do not want to replace a damaged crankshaft, and would simply accept my Blasters performance instead. I do have a slide hammer that I have used on motorcycle flywheels, and it fits the harmonic puller perfectly. I will have to remove the fuel tank to try this, but wanted to find out if anyone else has had this stuck flywheel condition, and may have used a slide-hammer.

Big bar over ratchet handle....be careful....it WILL pop....be sure your hands have clearance and the flywheel doesn't fall.

Most will say it lightening it only adds to total package of tweaks. I would just wait til the motor needs worked on.

Like Matt said put a pipe on it and be careful of your hands when it goes. If you are not using a flywheel lock, put a large cresent wrench over the head of the puller tool so you can really torque.

Be sure not to run your bolts too deep in the flywheel and risk damaging a stator coil underneath.

My blaster flywheel was a B to get off too. I tried the impact gun and no luck. A little bit of heat from a propane torch and she popped right off.

Thank you to everyone that put their experience to text for me while I was working to get my Blaster Flywheel off. I used a nut (like the socket idea) sized the diameter of the end of the crankshaft. This kept the harmonic puller center-bolt aligned perfectly. Then I used a breaker bar over one of the prongs on the puller, and a long handle 19 mm box end wrench to tighten the puller center-bolt. Had the sucka off damage free in a few minutes!

You dudes are AWESOME!

Thanks again for all the ideas and support.... Now on to a lighter flywheel!
