Stumped

Over a month ago ski at times wouldn’t start so I changed the starter again the ski won’t start so I opened the E-Box and saw salt water and large salt deposits cleaned everything out and changed solenoid still nothing what’s left
Solenoid clicks and when you hold it you can feel it clicking

try earth cable, and battery leads , connection to starter

earth lead can be discounted by using a jump lead from battery to motor

Is this a "no crank / no start" problem
or a "crank / no start" problem?

You can hear in the video just the solenoid clicking and that’s it won’t turn over thinking the starter again

I actually went to the Yamaha dealer and bought one and put it in and nothing just the clicks you hear in the video

I had a similar problem with my wife's old js440 and it turned out the rear piston was seized. A strong new starter would turn it over (for a while) and the engine would run, for a while.

If you take the spark plugs out can you turn the engine over by hand (with the coupler cover removed)?

Ok just got home from riding my bike this fn ski is on my mind all day and I am loosing sleep over it lol
I removed the plugs and pushed down on the pistons and they move freely
So what are the signs of a bad Bendix

Signs of bad Bendix.
Bendix moves starter gear to engage with flywheel gear.
Signs? Spinning starter but no engagement into flywheel?
But Bendix on these starters is part of the starter, so if starter is new, then bendix should be new too?

What happens when you jump/bridge the starter relay studs with a screwdriver?

@JetManiac must have new oem starters? Or know of a good quality rebuild. Also what about jetskisolutions.com ?

The bendix is under the flywheel and flywheel cover, it is not part of the starter. They are separate components.

What is the voltage across the starter when you press start and you hear the click?

If 12V then swap starter. If less than 12 (0?) then figure out why.

Jet maniac said bypass solenoid I just went to my local dealer and put a new one in I honestly tried the screw driver across the terminals of the solenoid and it sparked I gave up on that idea don’t want to blow anything so new one in.
I’ll buy Another Yamaha Starter that’s really doesn’t bother me as much as removing everything to get to it

Yes I know it’s there is it possible that it’s stuck I would rather take that apart then what it take to get to the starter

Have you done any voltage drops? Doesn't matter if it's a new solenoid, it can still be bad. Voltage drop all components. That will tell you where the issue is. Jump the solenoid is the easiest tell tale, you won't blow anything up.

If the bendix is stuck, you should be able to roll the engine over backwards from the coupler and it should unstick unless you have a very warm out bushing.
