Stupid question: can I moor my new Superjet?

Hi guys, I got my first Superjet and I love it. However, I live on Lake Chelan in Washington State. I don't have a dock, I have buoys. They are a safe distance from the shore and all, but my main question is: can I safely moor my Superjet for long periods of time?

I am afraid that it will take on water through the nose and sink. Maybe I am paranoid, and maybe this is a stupid question, but I thought I would ask! Thanks!

Man I wouldn't risk it. Besides nearly every ski I have seen has at least some leak point (hood seal, cracked fiberglass, loose hoses, etc) and they never float level because water runs up the exhaust pipe... I don't know your situation but your ski may get tumbled all around by passing boats during the day. I have seen cabin cruisers capsize small fishing boats on my lake... When I go camping I don't even like leaving it the water or even on the shore. Always out of the water and on a stand/trailer.

Don't ride up onto it. If you leave the stand half in the water and half out (only do this when you are using the ski and will be near it at all times) then you just pull the ski up onto it. If you are going to use it as a stand for when you aren't using the ski set it all the way out of the water and have someone help you lift the ski out of the water and onto the stand.

here is a pic of a bunch of skis on those stands. I think your best bet will be to get a beach cart with wheels like the ones in this picture. Then you can launch by yourself.

1.set the stand in a sturdy part of the beach
2. approach the stand and make a turn and go back out toward the water
3. pin the throttle and run it up onto the stand at full throttle!!
4. make sure someone gets it on video.

Cost me about $700 to have my dual jetski lift made at a local machine shop, a single would cost less. I can lock my skis to it and nobody screws with them.

Do you (or your parents) actually own waterfront there, or do you just have access/rights to use it? Just asking as it would help determine if you could put a permanent ramp/stand there on the shoreline.

If you don't drill holes in the hull, it will float indefinitely.
Just spent a week at LKN and all skis floated just fine.
Just no scuppers!
